Fabrication of an Aluminum Alloy Bracket Assembly
When a customer needed an internal mount for a custom vehicle, Dresco Machining & Fabrication was contracted to employ our advanced metal fabrication capabilities. To fabricate this assembly, two types of aluminum alloy were used: 5052-H32 with a thickness of .125" to .250", and 6061-T6 with a thickness/overall diameter of .750". These components were constructed under stringent quality control, with dimensional and visual inspection performed throughout the process. Processes applied for fabrication included Waterjet cutting, hydraulic press bending and forming, CNC turning, and welding.
To finish this assembly, we deburred, painted, and marked each part, adhering to the customer's specifications detailed in 2D CAD drawings throughout the process.
The final product met a host of industry standards, including ASTM B209 and ASTM B221.
